2014 Knoxville City Championship

FM Peter Bereolos won the 2014 Knoxville City Chess Championship with a perfect score of 5-0.

Haskell Glover, Robert Hydzik, Dean Lee, and Jason Shaw tied for second place with the score of 2.5-2.5.

The prizes were donated by Benjamin Elliott and Douglas Forsythe.

2014 Knoxville Amateur Championship

Adrian Gellert, Brad Phillis, and Kevin Swanger tied for first in the 2014 Knoxville Amateur Chess Championship with a score of 3-1. They have been named Co-Champions. The tournament was for players Rated under "2000".

The prize was donated by Benjamin Elliott.

 


October 9, 2014 -- Quick-Chess Tournament (G/15)

Robert Hydzik won, scoring 3-0. The tournament was USCF Rated, and the prize was donated by Douglas Forsythe.

 


October 16, 2014 -- Ten-Minute Tournament (G/10)

Dean Lee won, scoring 3.5-.5. Haskell Glover finished second with 2.5-1.5. The tournament was USCF Rated, and the prize was donated by Douglas Forsythe.

 


FREE USCF-Rated Chess Games

GKCC member DOUGLAS FORSYTHE wants to play chess with you. He wants to play USCF-Rated games in the Knoxville area, at any time control from G/30 to G/60 inclusive. He would like to play you a match of several games, in one session.

  • He would pay all Rating fees -- it would be free for you to play.
  • He would be happy to play at your house, his house, or some other mutually agreed-upon location (for example, a local bookstore).
  • He can play on almost any day and time that is convenient for you.

If you are interested, call Doug at 456-1579, during December 2014.

For the games to be Ratable:

  • You must be a current USCF member.

May 2008 Oak Ridge Chess Event

Greater Knoxville Chess Club members Leonard Dickerson and Keith Eatherly helped man the chess table at an all night lockdown for graduating Seniors of Oak Ridge High School.
