2009 Knoxville City Championship

Bob Hydzik scored a double play. He won the Amateur Championship (open to players rated under "2000" and unrated), and tied for first in the City Championship (a closed round-robin) with FM Pete Bereolos.

May 2008 Oak Ridge Chess Event

Greater Knoxville Chess Club members Leonard Dickerson and Keith Eatherly helped man the chess table at an all night lockdown for graduating Seniors of Oak Ridge High School.

December 2009 Quick-Chess Tournament

Demetri Bovopoulos won the tournament, a USCF Rated Swiss, with a score of 3-1.

New GKCC member Doug Forsythe and Corry Marsh tied for Second Place with 2.5-1.5.

Jim Reynolds played in the tournament, his first-ever Rated event.
