There were two ways to qualify for the Championship:

  1. The winners of our five Rated Swisses (held in January, March, May, July, and September 2008) are playing in the Championship.

  2. The player who didn't win a Rated Swiss- but who made the highest cumulative score in our five Rated Swisses during 2008, is playing in the Championship.
