The chess club meets every Thursday from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M.

Casual Games are always available — regardless of what event is scheduled

September 2010

USCF Rated Swiss Tournament
Starts Thursday September 2, 2010 — 6:00 PM
  • 4 - Round, USCF Rated Swiss. Play one game a week for four weeks.
  • Entry Fee: $10.
  • USCF and GKCC memberships required; can be purchased at the tournament.
  • Registration is on 9/2/2010 from 6:00-6:30 PM; games will commence a few minutes after registration. Subsequent rounds start at 5:50 PM — though later starting times can be requested by the players in accordance with club policy.
  • The winner will qualify to play in the 2010 Knoxville City Championship, a six-player round-robin that will be held at the Greater Knoxville Chess Club in November 2010.

October 2010

Quick-Chess Tournament
Thursday October 14, 2010 — 6:30 PM
  • Entry: $5.
  • 4-round Swiss. USCF Rated.
  • USCF & GKCC memberships required; can be purchased at the tournament.
  • Registration is on 10/14/2010 from 6:30-7:00 PM; the tournament will commence a few minutes after registration.
  • Time Limit: game in 9 minutes.
